Thank you Friends!  Our goal was to raise $30,000 to implement an underground pipe system to deliver underground water to the crop land of the Little Flower Montessori School so that the parents have a sustainable source of food and income.  Thanks to your donations, they are able to install the water system and grow their own crops for food and income.

Still in Uganda, we reached out to the town of Masakka, as they were in dire need of a steady supply of water.  In 2007 we were able to put together enough donations from our kind donors to install a very large water rank at the St. Charles Lwanga Primary school.

Following in the wake of the catastrophic 2004 tsunami, Children Waiting Everywhere collected donations and funded the construction of 6 single family homes for needy families living in temporary refugee camps.  Each family was provided with a new home, on-site water well, and a new fishing boat.

Named after our donors who gave us the initial funding.  To provide a brighter future for the youth of Kamwenge, Uganda we purchased land and constructed a building with 8 classrooms.  The lucky students of this Vocational school are trained in the tailoring, construction and carpentry trades.  Upon graduation, the students are given a gift of tools of their trade so that they can sustain themselves and their families by starting their own business.

As we often see in Kenya, the drought times can be long and difficult to survive without a water storage.  We included a large water tank on the school grounds to allow them to have clean water year round.

HealthCtr

AIDS is a devastating epidemic in Uganda, leaving many children orphaned and uncared for.  Children Waiting Everywhere funded a small clinic that provides AIDS testing and health advice.  It also runs a small but much needed dispensary for malaria treatment and other medications.

2004 - 2005: Tea Plantation Development in Fort Portal, Uganda

PDF
Children Waiting Everywhere funded the transformation of 50 acres of Ugandan bush into a productive tea plantation, creating jobs and money for the community.  Land was cleared without using the environmentally unfriendly "slash-and-burn" technique, and tea bush seedlings were brought in from other plantations in Uganda.  Building on this success, we hope to expand the acres under production, and one day we wish to build a small tea processing factory in the community.
