Nicholas and John See Hope
By Naomi Corera, September 19, 2025

Your generous donations to CWE continue to be a blessing to so many children and their families. In this case, your generous donations have provided the medical care for both boys and this is their story.
As it would be, while we were waiting for Nicholas’ Orthopedic consultation, we happened to meet John. Please see his story on a recent post.
The two boys hit if off beautifully. John had recently received his “new” prosthetic leg (paid for by Children Waiting Everywhere) because we happened to meet him while we were waiting for Nicholas’ appointment and Nicholas could see how well John was doing. Nicholas could see the potential for himself, he received the gift of hope.
From the medical side of hope, the orthopedic doctors are very hopeful for Nicholas. It will be a hard recovery, but he is young and should do very well with the help of his family. After speaking with both parents, they have promised and are committed to the care of Nicholas once he is discharged from the hospital, as he will need constant care in their home during his recovery.
The plan is that in December, the surgeons will amputate both legs below the knee and fit him with prosthetics once he has healed. Once Nicholas has his new prosthetic legs he will be able to walk and run around just like John. Not only have the two boys developed a unique friendship, but one is motivating the other to actually “see” what can be in his future. One has given the gift of HOPE without even realizing it.
We believe that it was God’s plan these two boys met while waiting for the appointment. And all of this would not be possible if it were not for the generous donations made to Children Waiting Everywhere.
A side note: whenever I take a child for medical care and/or consultation, it is not just the child who travels with me, it is also a parent, usually the Mother. Children Waiting Everywhere pays for the transportation to and from – this is the driver’s time and the fuel; Children Waiting Everywhere pays for the food we will need during the journey and while waiting to be seen by a doctor – which is usually waiting all day; and Children Waiting Everywhere pays for the actual medical care prior to the care actually being given. It is all paid by Children Waiting Everywhere, all of it. Your donations make this possible. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and may God Bless you!
