Cyclone Ditwah hit Sri Lanka and Children Waiting Everywhere has helped the children get back to school!

By Naomi Corera, January 12, 2026

Cyclone Ditwah, struck Sri Lanka in late November and devasted many homes and families whose homes were washed away by flooding and landslides.

In a recent visit to Sri Lanka, Children Waiting Everywhere was able to distribute school supplies to several families who had lost everything.

Here I am with Sister Carmen and some of the children distributing school supplies and now they are ready for school to open.

All the children were promoted to the next grade as their were NO REPORT CARDs – all washed away by the mud slides and the disaster caused by the floods!

Sister Carmen from the Holy Angel Congregation introduces three families who have been affected by the mudslides. Their seven children received school supplies needed for their studies including shoes. Sister Carmen thanks Naomi and all her friends and sends her wishes: “May the coming year be a prosperous one with God’s grace for all of you and your families.”

Naomi continually gives thanks to all the donors of Children Waiting Everywhere who help make these gifts possible. Thank you and God Bless you all.
